Professional Activities

Prior to joining the firm in May of 2000, Scott was a partner in the South Bend office of Barnes & Thornburg, where he practiced in the area of construction law, commercial law, real estate and creditors’ rights. While at Barnes & Thornburg, Scott chaired the Construction Law Practice Group in 1999 and 2000. Scott continues to practice in the areas of construction law, commercial law, real estate, and creditors rights.

Scott has been active in the St. Joseph County Bar Association, where he has served as the chair of the Young Lawyers Section, a member of the Board of Governors, and President in 1998. Scott has been a fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation since 1997.

Scott was also involved with the Indiana High School Mock Trial Program for 20 years, serving as the attorney coach for the Mishawaka Marian High School and New Prarie teams and on the Executive Committee of the Indiana High School Mock Trial program.

Scott also has served on the Advisory Board of the Thomas N. Frederick Juvenile Justice Center in South Bend, as well as on the Board of Directors for LaSalle Park Homes.
